Before joining Empower Schools, Colleen was the Managing Director of School & District Support at the National Center on Time and Learning (NCTL). Prior to joining NCTL, Colleen served as principal in the Chelmsford Public Schools. Colleen led her school to be recognized as a “Commendation School” in the state of Massachusetts for high student growth in achievement. She has over twenty years of experience in public education as curriculum coordinator, principal, assistant principal, and teacher. Colleen recently received her doctorate in Educational Leadership from Boston College. Her dissertation focused on effective principal leadership in the urban setting and the role of the district in recruiting, supporting, and evaluating principals. She also holds a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction and an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from University of Massachusetts.
